In an attempt to put all my docs on line, today is th DNS Tutorial I wrote for myself a while ago:
This tutorial assumes you are trying to install a DNS server on your local network, under debian amd64, and that you want to use external DNS servers for forwarding external requests (ie: you are not an Internet DNS server)

A while ago, I bought a Brother DCP750CW and installed it successfully on my computer, unfortunately, my hard drive crashed … and I had to reinstall my system… Nevermind, this time, I’ll take this chance to write a little tutorial !
This tutorial describes:
- Installation of the scanner connected via ethernet
- Installation of the printer, using cups
Requirements:
- The printer must be connected to the network
- You must have a debian Linux installed and root access
This tutorial is intended for Debian Unstable amd64, but most of the points can be adapted to other distributions

As you might have noticed in the past, I worked on the pidgin-latex plugin (a plugin allowing you to speak maths using latex code in pidgin), well, it has a new home now on unfreeze’s !
Pidgin-Latex Plugin Page
I added all former work on that to the new svn, and added a new http dowload server. New work is to come soon (oh, btw, it also works under windows).

Working in the energy meter fields lately, and googling for informations regarding the measure class definition does not help much …
I’d like to clarify what exactly are those two things here, and give you some clues on how to test that on a fresh new design

Since I am often sent expat in China this year, I have quite a few issues to follow all CNAM classes in France . . .
As a result, we are now approaching the second term examination period, (namely next week), and I’ll be in China as well. Fortunately, I succeeded to outsource my ENG110 exam to Shanghai French consulate (!!).
Here is the recipe for you other CNAM expats who want to work abroad but do not want to screw up all your CNAM studies:

I’m just back from China, where there had been a terrible earthquake as you all know. Figures are not yet stable, but authorities now speak about 30,000 deaths, 100,000 injured, and hope that the death count will not go over 50,000 …
This is definitely a horrible catastrophe for China, and I can’t even imagine the sorrow of families who lost their beloved. I feel really sorry for them and will be glad to support them in this very hard days.
Now hell, what do I read on the “Liberation newspaper” ?? (pointed to me by a Chinese collegue in Suzhou) :

Those last weeks were quite busy on the business trip thing, been to SuZhou (苏州) and Dongguan (东莞)… but now I am facing a little problem in Dongguan … I am beeing spamed ! using SMS, tons of SMS.
About 20 to 30 Spam SMS an hour (!!!) issued by a non disclosed sender, Saying ‘GMCC’ … and ‘Dongguan’ … (what’s an interesting text, isn’t it ?). Windows Mobile (installed on my pda phone), comes with a Black list application, which is fine but … which can’t handle non disclosed senders … The only cure I found was deactivating the sound notification of new incoming message … and I clear them up every once a while …
On the other end, SMS Outlook doesn’t help, as, as far as I know, it does not support filters or spam protection …
Windows Mobile: Yet another spam victory
